End of the Year 2004...Are Resolutions in...
Yes, it's the end of the year 2004. Have you thought about a New Years Resolution? I thought so....
Of course we know what happens when we make that new years resolutions. It usually gets put some where, perhaps with that new Christmas tie or those beautiful glass snowflake angels??
But to those individuals who are seeking some type of credit relief, maybe it's time to take stock, grab yourself by your bootstraps and finally do something to change part of your life!
Like make some type of determination to slow down on the credit spending and start making a concrete plan of action to actually payoff some of those bills.
For the beginning of the new year how about a simple budget. I am talking about a very simple plan that you take a note book and start to list all your creditors and everyone who you owe money.
Receipe for a Simple Budget:
On the left hand column start with a description/who you owe. As you move from left to right the next item will be the current balance, then the minimum payment, then the actual payment, next the interest rate you are being charged and lastly a comment section.
In total you have 6 columns. Now start listing the creditors you need to pay. Also at the top of the page put the title which will be the month of January.
Now at the very bottom of this spreadsheet, total everything by column. Now you know what you owe!
Simple, right?
What you do is read this everyday when you get up in the morning and make a determination that you will payoff these bills. Make a big determination to mail these bills off so they arrive at your creditors door 6-7 days before the bill is actually due!!
That's a tough one, right? But just do it. We are creating a behavior pattern here and if you do this you will be in the mindset to payoff your bills and never be late.
So enough for now because I will suggest another tip to enhance this simple budgeting plan.
What we've created so far is a list of all your bills and everyday you will review it to remind yourself that you need to pay these bills for the current month. The goal is to pay your bills on time!...Sound like a good resolution??
You bet!!
