How to Stop Debt Collectors From Calling You, the Legal Way!

Here is an excellent way to stop debt collection companies from calling you.

According to this updated article from the FTC it states that as long as you have a dispute in writing, by law the debt collector must stop calling you until the dispute has been verified in writing.

So if you are trying to payoff any of your credit cards, loans or retail credit accounts you are protected from the annoying telephone calls!

Just be sure that you are in dispute with the creditor or credit reporting agency. How do you do that?

Call your creditors of any inconsistencies or inaccuracies and submit your dispute. The same goes for the credit reporting agencies. There are always inaccurate information that needs to be clean up because of the transfer of information from human error.

Read this short report for clarity on stopping your creditors from calling you:

Autumn is finally here and the weather is changing out here in Northern California.

That means we need to take extra precaution in wet weather.

As you may or may not know, California drivers don't know how to drive in the rain so traffic literally comes to a halt if someone has a flat tire or the CHP has pulled someone over the side.

This causes miles of back up!

This brings to mind about the health of our financial status today.

How backed up are you? Have you been paying your bills on time or are you slowly getting behind?

It's best to take stock on review your financial situation. The holidays are coming, more stress on the finances and don't forget, employers find this an idea time to layoff their workers.

Don't get caught off guard.

However, if you are really in a pinch perhaps this article that I found may give some light at the end of your financial challenges...check it out:

Check Cards: 4 Things You Must Avoid

Check Cards: 4 Things You Must Avoid

Check Cards otherwise known as debit cards are very popular. Most double as a credit card and/or debit ATM card.

Do you have one? I do.

When they first came out I hated them because it was difficult to balance my checking account. I didn't understand how to use the card.

After all, the money withdrawn to pay for a transaction is instantly deducted from your checking account.

Keeping track can really be a challenge if you don't record your purchases.

I eventually got used to managing my money so I would not over spend. Let's face it, if all the money you have is in your checking account the misuse of your check card can easily start a series of overdrafts and create a big mess you don't want to be involved in.

Here are 4 terms you must be familiar with to avoid a disaster, they are:

  1. Account overdraft
  2. Blocking
  3. Transaction limits
  4. PIN versus signatures

I vaguely recognized these terms when I first read them myself so don't feel bad.

Here is an informative article on the subject of check cards.

Check it out here:

Beware debit card problems -- "...Overdrawing your checking account and hitting daily usage limits are just two problems."

Can Brain or Spinal Injuries Be A Cause For Bankruptcy?

...Interesting link to brain and spinal injuries can cause bankruptcies.

This caught my attention as I never specifically thought that these types of medical conditions would cause bankruptcy, they just seem so unrelated.

But according to this article 3% of all brain or spinal injuries ended up in bankruptcy.

It's no wonder as the cost of medical treatment is sky high especially if you are without adequate health insurance. It can literally wipe out your savings or retirement!

Do you have enough savings to whether the storm for a catastrophic medical event?

Forced Savings...Soon to be a Law??

Would You Agree To A Law That Will Force You To Save??

That's news to me. I just read an article that soon a law will force employees to participate in forced savings.

What would you do if you are forced to save money for your future?

On the one hand it is a good idea, however, what if your income obligations cannot truly support the idea of a forced savings....

Again, this is a new law, what are your thoughts?

Check out the article....

New 401(k) Law Helps Companies Force Employees Into Saving

By author on Investing

Take a look at this article from Smart Money about a new law that will allow companies to set employees up for automatic contributions to their 401(k) accounts. It will also allow a company to automatically increase an employees contributions to a 401(k) each year up to a certain cap percentage.
